The original Greek version of the Liber de septem herbis consists of two notices: one is anonymous or attributed to Hermes, the other one to Alexander the Great.
They are different in the presentation of the sequence of the planets and herbs, which have therapeutic properties and sometimes magical powers.
The Latin transposition, based on the second review, is written by Paschalis Romanus (who also translated Kyranides), but the manuscript tradition leads it to Aristotle, his student Alexander or the Dominican philosopher Albert the Great.
The outline of the plants, associated with each planet, varies in many codes.
In the printed copies the text does not circulate independently, but in the Liber de virtutibus herbarum, or Liber aggregationis, attributed to Doctor Universalis, in the section on herbs.
